Mohammad Zaher Howeida and Friends – Djaam e Narandji

صبر تلخ است ولی بر شیرین دارد” ـ سعدی”

Maybe you were wondering when a “Djaam e Narendji” version would finally be uploaded on afghanrecordsgallery.com? Here it is! You were patient and you were right.

This version of this famous Afghan song (originally from Herat and made popular through Radio Kabul by Ustad Madadi during the 60’s) was recorded by Mohammad Zaher Howeida with some of his Iranian friends as he was staying in Tehran during the 70’s. Iranian singers are credited as Shahla, Saman, Mehrdad and Kourous.

On the side B, there is a very interesting solo song from Howeida with a psychedelic organ.

During the same period and with the same friends, Howeida recorded another song called “Kamar Barik” that was also released on vinyl. We will post it here soon.
