Jalil and Sara Zoland – “Kamar Barik”

This beautiful track, according to this documentary (2017) – was composed in Tajikistan while the poem was written by Abolghassem Lahoti, an Iranian poet who left Iran to Russia and then Tajikistan where he established himself at the beginning of the Soviet Union.

This song became popular all over Central Asia, from Iran (where Zaher Howeida recorded a version in the 70’s) to Uzbekistan. It was not too late for us to make it featuring on our website.

This 45 rpm was released in Iran, probably during the end of the 60’s or early 70’s. On the side B is another interesting duet between Jalil and Sara.
